Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with expertise in electrical systems and CNC machine maintenance to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, CNC machines, and other production equipment in our Madison, Alabama facility. If you’re a hands-on problem-solver with a knack for keeping things running, we want you to help drive our production forward!

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including wiring, motors, and control panels, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines used for cutting and shaping cabinet components, diagnosing issues with software, hardware, or mechanical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of production equipment (e.g., table saws, routers, sanders) to identify and address potential failures.
  • Repair and calibrate equipment to maintain precision in cabinet manufacturing processes.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and CNC programming to diagnose issues.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of spare parts for electrical and CNC systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and maintain a safe workshop environment.
  • Assist in training staff on basic equipment operation and safety protocols as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 3+ years in maintenance engineering or mechanics, with specific experience in electrical systems (e.g., wiring, motor controls, PLCs).
    • 2+ years in CNC machine maintenance and repair, including troubleshooting software (e.g., Mastercam, Cabinet Vision) and mechanical components.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or certification in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repair of 120/240V systems, motors, and control circuits.
    • Proficiency in CNC machine maintenance, including calibration, spindle repair, and software diagnostics.
    • Ability to read electrical schematics, technical manuals, and CNC programming.
    • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure equipment reliability.
    • Basic computer skills for maintenance logging and CNC software use.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in a workshop environment, and perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, or standing for extended periods.
  • Preferred: Experience in woodworking or cabinet manufacturing; familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
